April 2021 Update

Updated: Apr 13, 2021

Good afternoon alumni Brothers, active Brothers, and visitors!

Our alumni spotlight updates have been missing for the last few weeks due to our active brothers’ very busy schedules!

Last night, April 11th, Maryland Mu elected new officers for the April to November 2021 period:

Eminent Archon: Chris Garnsey

Eminent Deputy Archon: Corey Foote

Eminent Treasurer: Adam Bayer

Recruitment Chairman: Matthew Hutton

Member Education & Brotherhood Chairman: Josh Petruzzelli

Health & Safety Chairman: Ryan Higgins

Scholarship Chairman: Randy Hammond

Eminent Recorder: Randy Hammond

Service & Philanthropy Chairman: Corey Foote

Eminent Warden: Ryan Higgins

Eminent Chronicler: Josh Petruzzelli

Fundraising Chairman: Adam Bayer

Social Chairman: Adam Bayer

Eminent Herald: Matthew Hutton

Alumni Relations Chairman: Josh Petruzzelli

Intramural Chairman: Matthew Hutton

McDaniel Fraternity Council Representative: Chris Garnsey

Webmaster: Corey Foote

We also welcomed two senior alumni to our Executive Council meeting and Chapter meeting last night. Mu-Delta Province Archon Bill Voelp and long-time Mu-Delta Province alumni Jim “Scoop” Sakers provided some great advice to our Executive Council on topics ranging from our next rush event to internal discipline and philanthropy!

In the Fall 2021 semester, Maryland Mu initiated one new Brother: Matthew Hutton. Matthew’s already been elected to multiple offices in the recent election, including our new Recruitment Chair, Eminent Herald, and Intramural Chair. Matthew is definitely one of our up-and-coming underclassmen Brothers, and we are certain he is destined to help lead Maryland Mu into the next few years!

Maryland Mu would also like to congratulate Brothers Josh and Chris for their success in Army ROTC at McDaniel College! Chris will be attending Cadet Summer Training at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, this June, and Josh will go next summer. Chris also recently was awarded with a 2-Year Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty scholarship, which means he will serve in the U.S. Army Reserves or National Guard after he graduates. MD MU also wishes to congratulate alumni Brothers Andre Berry and Will Bower for completing their Basic Officer Leadership Courses at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, and Ft. Sill, OK in the last few months!

That’s all from Maryland Mu for now, please contact our Alumni Relations Chairman and Eminent Chronicler Josh Petruzzelli, jsp0102@mcdaniel.edu for more information on how you can help Maryland Mu!
